On Saturday my friends, Sara and Sharon, and I drove to the city!! (Philly) I live about 40 minutes away and Philly traffic is like nothing I’ve ever seen before, so I don’t go to the city often.  But Sharon has lived here her whole life and goes all the time, so she wanted to take us with her!

We parked near Rittenhouse Square which is definitely the best area downtown.  The square itself has so many locals just relaxing in the shade with their dogs and kids, there are street vendors selling art and food, and we even stopped to watch a magician.  Around the square, there are so many cute streets with the most beautiful houses.  They are also so many ~trendy~ (ya i hate myself too) restaurants, cafes, juice bars, ETC.  We stopped at a smoothie place and I had the best smoothie in my life!!!

We had absolutely no plans for being in Philly.  We just got out of the car and started walking, and just had so much fun together.  My friends are awesome.  Sara is so cool, just look at her jacket, and Sharon is so fricken funny and entertaining.  It was just such a blast.

I’m glad I went to Philly.  Since moving here, it’s been really hard for me to like the area.  It was mostly me being stubborn but also just struggling with how different it is than the Midwest.  Going to Philly with Sharon who has loved it since she was little was an eye-opening experience.  I’ve been to the city numerous time and I’ve really liked it, but Saturday was the first time I ever pictured myself living here in my post-grad twenties.

Here’s to learning to love your life exactly how it is.

xxxo, ladies
