MURALS + BRUNCH
MURALS + BRUNCH
Yesterday morning I picked up my friends Chris, Lauren, Dana, and Erin from school and we went out to brunch! We went in Manayunk, a neighborhood in Philly. I had also heard previously that Manayunk had cool murals along their bike path, so I wanted to go check those out too.
When I woke up, it was pouring down rain. It had been thundering all night long, and the morning was very grey. After brunch (which took two whole hours), we walked along the bike path (after searching quite a bit to find it) and it was 85 degrees! We stopped at the first mural above because we loved the mosaic and bright colors. We snapped a few pictures, but the sun was so bright and so hot so we decided to go under a bridge in the shade to figure out what we wanted to do next. Then we all kinda turned at once and noticed that the mural under the bridge was awesome too. Everyone was just like “Hey look!” all at the same time. We snapped a few more picks in the much more comfortable temp 🙂
The reason brunch took so long was because [bad service, so] we decided to play something called the Aura game. Basically, you think of someone you all know, and everyone asks questions about that person’s Aura to guess who it is. The questions are posed like, “What season would they be?”, “What region of the US would they be?”, or “What color are they?”
We got so into it. Debating and everything. “Couldn’t you tell right away when I said Southwest/SoCal!?” and “No, he’s not mint green! What are you talking about??” were said at brunch today. Try playing this with a few of your friends if you’re looking for something to do. It’s pretty difficult but it’s hysterical! So crazy how well we all know our friends.
The five of us have so many entertaining discussions on so many endless things (not only our friends!!!). The whole day was quite the adventure. That’s how it always is with them. The night before we spent an hour in Michael’s discussing which crafts to make for birthday gifts and the result was a styrofoam head painted as a replica of the birthday boy. I truly don’t know where we come up with our ideas. (We bought black yarn for hair, too.)
Anywho, it was a pretty great (& hot) day. We were happy to get in my car with the AC. There’s nothing like friends cars & music and I think everyone can agree on that.
Hope everyone’s weekends are rockin. It’s like you can almost smell summer! XXO
P.s. how hard does Erb rock that boot?? (We call Erin “Erb”. Not really sure why it started but it stuck.)
