Ok so first things first…I’m really proud of these pictures.  Not because of how I look/what I’m wearing or really anything to do with me, but because this was the first time Garrett got to use a fancy camera!!  I was teaching him as we went and I think it’s really cool that you can see his progression even in these photos. (So I apologize for how many there are and that we didn’t change up the scenery, but I’m just really happy with how they turned out and couldn’t pick any favorites.) What a quick learner my guy is!! (Also, peep my brother, mom, and aunt on paddle boards/kayaks waaaaay out in the background in the first few!!)

Next…let’s talk about beach vacations and more importantly what to wear on them.  Every single time I pack for the beach, I bring so many outfits and cute things and end up wearing none of them.  Does anyone else do this?!?  This time around I looked at the things I did wear and compared them to the things I left at the bottom of my suitcase.  What did the things I wore have that the others did not?

Comfort & Simplicity.

The last thing I want to do after a day in the sun is put on any type of denim.  (Have you ever been sun burnt on your booty or belly?!?)  Scratch the jean shorts and boyfriend capris.  The humidity would prevent my sticky boobs from actually sticking…so nix any low cut, loose fitting tank tops or camis.  (I know some may disagree with me on this and enjoy wearing those types of shirts on vacation…I envy you people 🙂 ).

Basically, all I feel like wearing after a day spent at the beach or doing water sports is maxi skirts (more like midi skirts with my legs) and dresses.  The royal blue maxi that I am wearing is from LOFT.  I love it because the fabric is satin-like but SO light and breathable.  The slits on the sides prevent any restriction (I hate when maxi skirts or dresses get all caught up in your legs and you have to keep fixing them in order to walk normally) and make it great for the wind :).  And POCKETS!!!!!  Pair any maxi with a simple tank top and you’re good to go.  My tank is from Target (a.k.a. Heaven)  for 8 bucks and comes in a million kajillion colors.  I got navy and grey as well when I bought the white one.  #staplecolors

If you’re headed to the beach at some point this summer, check out some of the maxi/midi skirts down below.  All are below $80 and most are below $60.

More to come on my vacation, but for now, I hope everyone’s summer is rad and your days beautiful.  Here’s to sun kissed skin!!

xoxo
