I had the most beautiful Palm Sunday.  My Nana was visiting for the weekend, so the four of us went to mass in the morning, and afterwards we decided to walk around Valley Forge last minute.  It was so warm and the sun was shining so bright!!

Valley Forge is a National Historic Park.  Basically, it is a massive amount of land that has been preserved and refurbished.  It is where Washington and his army spent the winter of 1777-78.  There once were a total of 2,000 huts on the land, but they only preserved about 10.  There are a few redoubts with cannons, spikes, and moats to prevent British attack, but most of the land is just grass.  The sprawling hills leave you wondering what it was like to look out over the land waiting for an attack.  We didn’t have as much time as we thought we would (I had to babysit in the evening), so we didn’t get to see everything we wanted to, especially Washington’s headquarters which were a two mile walk from the huts. (I’m telling you, this place is huge!!)

I hope everyone enjoys their Holy Week!! I’m spending mine cherishing precious moments with my family.

My mom and I are also debating which foods we are going to start reintroducing into our diet!!  Our 30 days our up, and we’ve been continuing the diet with Lent.  We plan to continue eating whole foods, but widening our scope to include legumes (hummus!!!), rice & soy (sushi!!!), and maybe a little dairy (cream in my coffee!!!)

I’ve got a few fun recipes that I plan on trying this week.  Stick around for those because I can’t wait to try them!!

P.S. I’m obsessed with my new Vans!!  They are a perfect staple to make any outfit.  Also I think I want my life to be embroidered.  I don’t know if that’s possible but I absolutely love the detail in this dress and find myself loving all embroidered things when I go shopping.
