Just stopping by to say hi
For me, today is Thursday, January 11th, although you are reading this on the 15th. (Another one of my 2018 intentions – PLANNING THE BLOG). Here is what I woke up to this morning:
I’m enjoying the last few days of nothingness before class starts up again. I had to accomplish a few things today like laundry and errands, but other than that nothing else needed to get done. It was so sunny and warm today I forgot that it was January. I took Charley Doodle on 3 one-mile-runs – the dog literally never loses energy – but it was really good for me to get out of the house and burn some calories. My legs are already a little sore from the various hills in our neighborhood.
When I walk with Charley I really work on being within myself. Breathing the fresh air, feeling the breeze against my face, smelling the grass or rain or snow, and just watching my doodle explore the world. I understand what parents mean when they say they get to see the world through their child’s eyes. I love seeing what Charley sees and all the things he gets excited about – leaves blowing, birds flying, water running down the street – everything is new and exciting to him which makes everything so much more exciting to me.
One of my favorite things to do (when I have the time) is scroll through my favorite blogs. I love sitting down at my computer with a cup of coffee and just finding inspiration through others. Today I was looking at A Beautiful Mess. Go check them out, you won’t regret it.
I, of course, have to keep the treat jar right next to me because what you don’t see is Charley Doodle at my feet. He is working on learning how to relax. When you want to sit down at the computer or watch a little TV, you don’t want your dog wandering upstairs, stealing your slipper, and bringing it back downstairs begging you to play. You want your dog to relax. So, when he does lay down and relax, we reward him! When I sit at the computer I lay a towel on the floor next to me so he knows it’s time to relax. He’s gotten very good at it!
I hope your day has been full of laughter and love. And if it hasn’t, please tell me. I would love to make you smile.
That’s all for now, my love
